UK’s WH Smith Says It Is Investigating Expected Offer of High Road Arm

LONDON (Reuters) – English retailer WH Smith is investigating expected vital choices for its UK high road business, including a deal, it said on Saturday after media reports.

The organization was holding “secret discussions” about the offer of its whole high road arm, which has in excess of 500 stores, Sky News originally gave an account of Saturday.

Answering the reports, the gathering said: “WH Smith affirms that it is investigating expected vital choices for this beneficial and cash generative piece of the gathering, including a potential deal.”

The organization said there was no sureness that any arrangement would be reached, and that it would give refreshes on the cycle “as and when proper”.

WH Smith’s high road arm is important for the retailer’s more beneficial travel business, which has around 1,200 stores across 32 nations.

“3/4 of the gathering’s income and 85% of its exchanging benefit comes from the movement business,” it said.
